Russia recently partially blocked messaging app Telegram after the company denied to comply with local legislation. Thousands of people gathered in Moscow on Monday to back Internet freedom. This is the latest attack against the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

People holding placards and paper aeroplanes gathered in the Russian capital. Top opposition leader Alexei Navalny accompanied the protestors. They even demanded the resignation of President Putin.

The young crowd came together for the protest. Placards read, "Don't stay silent" and "Putin is a thief."
