A woman who hails from Los Angeles County sued her partner in December 2014 for sharing her picture of porn sites after they parted their ways in 2013. The judgement of this case came in favour of this girl and she was awarded $6.4 million.
According to the case report her eight intimate pictures were shared on revenge porn site called MyEx and later it was directly uploaded to Tumblr by her former partner named David K. Besides, the explicit pictures were shared on personal and professional acquaintances. The court document clearly mentioned that the case was a revenge porn campaign.
Her former boyfriend not only impersonated her on dating sites but also created an identical Twitter username that she is presently using. He even distributed her home address on these sites. This case closed after four years. This is the first online harassment lawsuits that have been addressed.
