Mysterious Orange snow casts a spell on Eastern Europe

Mixing of sand, dust and pollen particles has given rise to such a phenomenon. According to Meteorologists, this phenomenon happens once in every five years.

Pictures of orange snow have gone viral.Skiers hailing from countries like Russia, Bulgaria and Romania have captured this unusual sight in their shutterbug and circulated on their social media.

One of the Meteorological Officers, Steven Keates said, “A lot of sand and dust swift from the North Africa and the Sahara due to sandstorms which is a common phenomenon in the desert. Then after they are transported here and there along with the wind."

A similar unusual sight was seen last year, during the Hurricane Ophelia, the sky turned red as storm carried dust from the Sahara.

This isn't the first time that Eastern Europe is such a strange snow-tint. In 2007 also orange snow fell across three regions of southern Siberia.
