Hezbollah chief Nasrallah killed

New Delhi: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that they killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah during airstrikes on Beirut. The IDF reported that the strike targeted the main headquarters of the militant group in Dahieh, a Hezbollah-controlled area in southern Beirut.

In a statement shared via their social media, the IDF revealed that Muhammad Ali Ismail, Commander of Hezbollah’s Missile Unit in southern Lebanon, and his deputy, Hussein Ahmad Ismail, were killed in a precise strike carried out by the Israeli Air Force (IAF). Ali Ismail had been involved in orchestrating several attacks on Israel, including recent rocket strikes and the launch of a missile aimed at central Israel.

This announcement follows the recent elimination of Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi, Head of Hezbollah’s Missiles and Rockets Force, alongside other senior commanders of the group.

In a video message shared by the IDF Chief of Staff, Lt Gen. Herzi Halevi, he emphasised Israel's stance, stating: "Our message is clear—anyone who threatens Israeli citizens will be targeted, whether in the north, the south, or beyond."

The video and statements were posted shortly after the IDF claimed responsibility for the killing of Nasrallah.
