As she was arrested, she announced: 'You ended my life, so I'm taking yours.' Blessing told officers she had wanted to kill herself but was out of weapons.

When detectives asked Blessing what she thinks should happen to her 'she replied she should be 'put to sleep' as a result of her actions.'

Blessing said to the police that she purchased a handgun in the year 1970’s. Four months ago she came to live with her son and his girlfriend. She told police she had been up for the last three to four nights thinking about her son telling her he was going to place her in an assisted living facility. So, she killed him. She even checked his pulse to confirm that he was dead.
