103-year-old lady survives COVID-19 amid high death risk among elderly people
Coronavirus is taking toll people with 219,345 cases confirmed across the world. So far 8,969 deaths have been reported while 85,745 people have been recovered. Among the survivors is a 103-year-old woman from Iran who was tested positive and has fully recovered as per the state media reported. Well, this case comes after the study told that elderly people are most at risk from Coronavirus.
As per IRNA report, the woman was hospitalised in the central city of Semnan for about a week and was soon discharged after making a complete recovery on Tuesday. Well, she is not the first elderly patient in Iran who survived the deadly virus.
Earlier, a 91-year-old man from Kerman from southeast of Iran also survived after being sick for three days. On Monday he fully recovered after having pre-existing medical conditions including high blood pressure and asthma. The report didn't reveal how the two elderly patients were treated.
Meanwhile, Iran has reported 1,135 deaths so far while 5,710 patients have recovered among 17, 361. Talking about India so far 171 cases have been reported while 3 death and 15 have recovered.
As per the World Health Organization, they have estimated that this month the novel coronavirus has killed 3.4 per cent of all those infected. However, for people aged over 80, the fatality rate was 21.9 per cent according to the WHO carried out with the Chinese authorities.
