Yogi Government to Provide Free Travel to Sisters on Raksha Bandhan

Lucknow: The Yogi government has announced that on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, all women passengers will be able to travel for free on Uttar Pradesh Roadways buses on August 19 and 20.

According to the order issued by the Additional Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Roadways, Ram Singh Verma, all regional managers have been instructed to ensure that no woman is charged for her ticket during this period. The order has been issued to provide convenience to women passengers during the festival.


No Shortage of Buses
To ensure that women do not face any inconvenience, the number of buses will be increased on these two days. The maintenance of buses has already begun, and all buses will be made operational to cater to the increased demand.

The Regional Manager of Agra, BP Agarwal, said that women of all age groups, including girls, will be able to travel for free on Uttar Pradesh Roadways buses on August 19 and 20. If any conductor demands a ticket, women can complain immediately.

The Uttar Pradesh Roadways has started repairing and overhauling its buses to ensure that they are in good condition to cater to the increased number of passengers during the festival. The number of buses will be increased on all routes from August 17 to 22, and all buses will operate at full capacity to ensure that passengers reach their destinations without any hassle.
