Woman murders father-in-law over alleged sexual harassment

In a horrifying incident reported from Tamil Nadu’s Kizhathuval, a woman murdered her father-in-law by poisoning him after he allegedly harassed her sexually.

The 25-year-old woman had tied the knot with a man from Kizhathuval four years ago. Because of various reasons, they could not give birth to a child.

Knowing this, the man's father, identified as Murugesan allegedly sexually harassed her when she was all by herself at home on numerous occasions.

The woman mixed rat poison in Murugesan's dinner on 31st July.

Murugesan complained of stomach pain after consuming the food and was later taken to the hospital where he passed away on 1st August.

Following the rituals, his dead body was cremated and no one would have discovered the killing, however, it was she who was under acute depression and confessed to her crime before the Village Administrative Officer Harikrishnan.

On the basis of the Village Administrative Officer Harikrishna complaint, the woman was taken into police custody by Kizhathuval Police.
