Woman kills drunk husband with brother’s help; neighbours call police
In a shocking incident reported from Thane’s Bhiwandi area, a woman allegedly killed her drunk husband by strangulating him with the help of her brother on Sunday, Reportedly, after he physically assaulted them. Both accused -- Savita Sanjay Pagi, aged 35 and her brother Akshay Kalang, aged 32 -- have been taken into custody by the Nizampura police.
According to reports, the unfortunate incident happened at the couple’s residence in Bhiwandi’s Kalher area. Savita was allegedly regularly beaten-up by her husband Sanjay Pagi, aged 38. Her brother Akshay often visited their house.
Earlier on Sunday, when Akshay had come to the couple’s residence, he saw his sister being tharshed by his brother-in-law. He unsuccessfully tried to stop his brother-in-law from thrashing her. Later, his brother-in-law started assaulting him. Savita flew into anger over this, according to a report by Hindustan Times.
“Savita got furious and saw her husband beating her brother as he was trying to stop him. In anger, she strangulated him and her brother allegedly helped her. After the incident, the neighbours saw the incident and called the police. We arrested both of them under IPC Section 302,” the report quoted cop as saying.
In a different incident of crime, a 36-year-old man allegedly planned to shoot his wife dead, reportedly after she refused to dissolve their marriage. The police, after receiving credible tip, laid a trap and nabbed the accused.
According to details in the case, the accused, identified as Kamal Sehgal, wanted to marry his girlfriend. His wife, however, denied to divorce him, after which, he decided to murder her. With the help of a contact, he got two pistols and some cartridges from UP's Aligarh. He had paid Rs 50,000 for the pistols.
