Woman consumes poison after family argues with boyfriend’s kin

A woman in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh allegedly took a drastic step after her family started arguing with her boyfriend’s family.

The 21-year-old woman ended her life on Thursday night after her family came to know about her relationship.

According to timesnownews.com, the now-deceased father claimed on Friday that his daughter consumed poison as she was being harassed by a neighbour.

During the investigation, police found that the claims made by the woman’s father were false. The investigation revealed that the woman was in a relationship with her neighbour.

The police also interrogated the woman’s family and the youth. While checking the call records and social media account of the woman, police came to know that the two youngsters had been talking to each other for a while, The Times of India reported.

According to the locals, they have seen the duo together but never heard of harassment allegations.

Later, it was confirmed that the two families had an argument over the couple’s relationship but they didn’t file any complaint.

According to senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sankal Sharma, the woman’s father didn’t register any complaint against anyone. If he would lodge a complaint then only an FIR would be registered.

The body of the deceased woman was handed over to her family after conducting the postmortem on Friday.
