Weather Update: Rajasthan feeling winter chills; Sikar, Churu recorded coldest night, rain expected

With chilly and dry winds, the effect of the changing weather in Rajasthan is visible now. Residents are beginning to experience nighttime chills as both day and nighttime temperatures are steadily falling. Tuesday night was the coldest in Sikar and Churu districts.

The minimum temperature recorded in Sikar district was 10.5 degrees and in Churu the temperature was 12.5. Apart from this, the state capital Jaipur also recorded a drop in temperature.


The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that temperatures in other districts of Rajasthan may continue to fall during the next few days.

The weather department indicated that winter effects can intensify in Shekhawati region of the state. The region can record more dips in the mercury levels as winter can intensify this year.

In the first week of November, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to get active in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh region of northern India, due to which more changes can be seen in Rajasthan weather.

Light rain also expected

With the increase in winter conditions, light fog has started to envelop various districts of the state in the morning. The weather department predicted light showers in some areas in next two-three days.

Yesterday in these districts the mercury was below 15 degrees

On October 25, the night temperature remained below 15 degree Celsius in Sikar, Hanumangarh, Chittorgarh, Karauli, Alwar, Churu, Udaipur, Baran, Nagaur, Bhilwara and Pilani. Apart from Barmer, the temperature in other cities was between 15 and 20 degrees.
