Vikas Dubey died because of 'haemorrhage, shock' due to ante-mortem firearm injuries, reveals postmortem

The main accused in the ambush and killing of eight police personnel in Bikru village, Vikas Dubey’s autopsy report has divulged that Kanpur gangster died because of haemorrhage and shock due to ante-mortem firearm injuries. Dubey was taken into custody from the Mahakaal temple in Madhya Pradesh on 9th July.

On 10th July, while he was being taken to Kanpur from Ujjain, the vechicle in which he was being taken, reportedly met with an accident and the gangster tried to escape after snatching a gun from of the policeman.

When asked to give in, Vikas began firing at the police, which resulted in a gun battle that killed the gangster during the cross-fire.

The UP government later set up an one member judicial commission, under retired judge Justice SK Aggarwal, to investigate the encounter after the opposition claimed that Vikas was killed in a fake encounter in order to protect the identity of his political top dog.

The panel has been handed two months to submit its report.

Previously, the UP government had set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the rise of Vikas Dubey and the role of the police.

The three-member SIT, led by Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, has put out a mobile number besides an e-mail address and postal addresses for the people, including their representatives, to contact the SIT and apprise it of whatever facts they may know about the gangster and his abetters.
