Uttar Pradesh: Minor girl allegedly raped at a mosque in Sambhal
In a horrifying incident coming in from Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a religious teacher, police said on Wednesday.
The accused has now been taken into police custoody, they said.
As maintained in the complaint registered by the victim’s mother, the minor girl was raped by Owais, her religious teacher at a mosque.
According to the Superintendent of Police Chakresh Mishra, the accused took the minor girl to his room near the mosque and raped her.
On the basis of the compliantfiled by the victim’s mother, an FIR was registered on Wednesday under IPC 376 (rape) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)Act, he said.
The minor victim has been sent for the medical analysis and its report is awaited, police siad.
In another shocking incident reported from the national capital’s Karol Bagh area, a rickshaw puller was killed after he allegedly refused to share a chapati with another man. The accused has been taken into police custody.
The 40-year-old deceased has been identified as Munna. “The accused, Firoz Khan, a ragpicker, was arrested from a park in Karol Bagh,” the police said.
On Tuesday, 26th July, cops were informed that a man was lying unconscious on the road. Locals from the area took him to RML hospital in an autorickshaw, however, the man was pronounced dead.
Following this, a case of murder was filed in Karol Bagh Police Station and an investigation was launched.
An eyewitness in the case, identified as Lakhan, told police that he was sitting with Munna at Vishnu Mandir Marg around 10 pm. Munna started eating food that he had brought from a hotel. When a drunk person came there and asked for food, Munna gave him a chapati.
Following that, the drunk person again asked for another chapati and the deceased refused him.“The accused was in an inebriated condition and he started shouting and abusing him. When the deceased opposed him, the accused brought out a long sharp knife, stabbed Munna and fled the spot. The eyewitness chased him around 400-500 meter but failed to catch him. Munna was rushed to RML Hospital on an auto-rickshaw where doctor declared him brought dead,” said the police.
The police started looking for the accused on the basis of his appearance as stated by the eyewitness. The police team started physical verification of all the labours and suspects who stayed on road side and park area. A thorough scanning was conducted and the hard work paid off.
A police team led by SI Vikram Singh and ASI Jitender reached Jajoria Park and identified a suspect who was sleeping in the park. The appearance of said suspect matched the accused.
In the time of interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime. CCTV footage from the crime scene was also obtained. The accused was then arrested and the knife used in the murder was also recovered.
