UP: Woman gangraped by husband's friends in Bareilly
Four men were booked for allegedly raping their friend's wife on Friday in Bareilly city of Uttar Pradesh. The incident came to fore after the victim filed a written complaint against the four.
As per the complaint filed by the victim, the four persons, who are neighbour to her, came to her residence when she was alone and took turns at raping her at gunpoint on Friday night. Then the four tried to slit her throat, however, she managed to escape from her house and raised an alarm after which the four fled from the house.
The accused had also threatened her with dire consequences if she complained about the incident, the victim further alleged.
Later on Sunday, the victim filed the complaint against her husband's four friends with the police.
As per reports, the victim later met SP RK Bhartiya and filed a written complaint.
Acting on the complaint, the SP asked the station house officer (SHO) of the local police station to investigate the incident and register an FIR.
The victim also alleged that her husband alleged that one of the accused had plotted against her husband and got him arrested in a drug smuggling case. The victim's husband is currently lodged in the Moradabad district jail.
A case under Sections 376 (D), 452 and 307.
Meanwhile, the police have sent the victim for medical examinations.
Efforts are being made to nab the accused, who are on run now, said a police official.
