UP: Teen girl hacked to death with axe, family alleges rape

A 15-year-old girl was hacked to death with an axe allegedly after being raped and her four-year-old nephew attacked by unidentified people at a village in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The horrific incident happened on Thursday when the victim was coming back home after giving food to her father in the field, police said.

As maintained by Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal "The body of the girl was found in a village. She was hacked to death with an axe".

The victim’s nephew was also injured by the attackers. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.

According to the Circle Officer Subodh Gautam, the girl was attacked when she was returning home after giving food to her father in the field.

The victim’s family has also alleged that the girl was raped before being hacked to death. It will be confirmed after the autopsy report arrives, he said.

In another appalling incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Mahrajganj district, police said on Tuesday.

A half bare body of the victim was found in a pool of blood in a forest area, which is approximately 500 meters away from her house on Tuesday.

Following the information, a team of police officials rushed to the crime spot and sent the body for autopsy.

It is suspected to be a case of gang-rape and murder, police said. They further added that the girl was the eldest among three sisters and their father was working in another city.
