UP: Man kills wife, 2 daughters with hammer over suspected infidelity
In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, a 60-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife and two daughters with a hammer at their residence over suspicion that they had illicit relationships with outsiders, police said on Wednesday.
The horrifying incident happened in Ambedkarnagar colony which falls under the jurisdiction of Shikarpur police station, news agency PTI reported.
While the wife (50) and two daughters -- aged 20 and 15 – lost their life, his third daughter (18), who was also attacked, survived and has been referred to Meerut district hospital for medical attention, police said.
According to police, an FIR has been registered on the basis of a complaint given by the man's 22-year-old son, who lives separately with his wife.
"The man suspected his wife and daughters of having illicit relationships with outsiders. He would often fight at home. Last night also they had a fight at home," SSP Singh said.
"Some time after his wife and daughters fell asleep in the night, the man hit them with a hammer on their heads. The wife and two daughters died, while the third one has been referred to Meerut for treatment," police said.
Currently, the accused is on the run and four police teams have been set up in order find him, police said, adding that efforts are being made to ensure his early arrest.
