UP horror: Woman gang raped at knifepoint; accused make rape video viral

In a horrifying incident coming in from Uttar Pradesh, a woman was gang raped by three men at knifepoint when she went to the field to gather woods.

The shocking incident occurred in Chutmalpur area which falls under the jurisdiction of Saharanpur police station. The accused also recorded a video of the incident and made it viral. One of the accused includes an elderly man.

The matter came to be known after the accused made the rape video viral on the internet and this led the victim to go to the police station in order to file a case. Police have now taken the three accused into their custody, according to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan.

As maintained by Fatehpur police station SHO, Satendra Nagar, a 45-year-old woman approached police on Sunday and registered a complaint.

In her complaint, the woman said that she had gone to collect woods in the fields on January 21 when three men from the village took her hostage at knifepoint and dragged her inside a crop field and gang raped her. She has named three accused as-Banarsi (26), Ravikant and Vinod.

Meanwhile, the accused also made a video of the gang rape. The accused also threatened to kill the victim if she told police or anyone about the crime. On Sunday, the accused made the video viral following which the victim approached police and registered a complaint.

The police have booked the accused under various sections of IPC which includes gang rape. The accused have now been sent to prison after they were taken before a court.
