UP: Man allegedly strangulates fiance to death five days before wedding
In a horrifying incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, a bride to be was strangulated to death by her fiance because he did not want to marry her. The victim’s dead body was later found lying on the roadside five days before the wedding.
On Monday, the victim, identified as Tina got a call from her fiance Jitin, who asked her to meet him to buy sarees for the upcoming marrage. The victim’s mother reached her at the nearby bus stand at around 11 am, said Vipin, a relative, who had come to attend the wedding.
At around 2.30 pm, police discovered Tina’s dead body lying on the road outside the village and notified the victim’s family. The family has said hours after meeting Jitin, Tina was found dead. Police have now taken the accused into their custody. The police have sent the body for autopsy.
Furthermore, the victim’s family has alleged that it was a love marriage and if Jitin didn’t want to marry, he could have canceled the wedding.
Earlier, when Jitin had come home, Tina was nowhere to be found. Her family looked for her everywhere, but couldn’t find her. This is when they were told that her body was found outside the village.
The family of the victim have identified the body and alleged that Jitin took her out for shopping and killed her. Police are now investigating what led Jitin to commit the horrific crime.
