Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and MLA from Uttar Pradesh’s Barkhera constituency, Kishan Lal Rajpoot has been book for allegedly beating up a police constable with shoes at a police post, robbing the policeman of his wallet and gold chain.

Fifty supporters of the BJP leader, including 15 identified aides and the MP's nephew have also been booked for the same.

According to reports, the police constable, identified as Mohit Gujar had a dispute with one Rahul over the purchase of an old motorcycle. Rahul did not have valid documents of registration and therefore, Mohit was not able to get the bike transferred to his name, the report claimed.

On September 12, when Mohit demanded a refund, the bike owner Rahul asked the former to come to the Pilibhit Mandi Samiti gate, where he gathered with Rishabh, the BJP MLA’s nephew, and other men.

When Mohit reached the spot, the MLA's nephew and others started abusing the police constable and thrashed him.

They opened fire at Mohit, however, he managed to escape from the spot and rushed to the nearby police station, Assam Toad police post, in a bid to save him.

Later, the MLA along with his supporters reached the police outpost and started beating him up. The BJP leader's supporter's also forced him to drink urine, alleged the police constable.

He also alleged that all the policemen present at the outpost remained silent spectators, while he was being thrashed by the BJP leaders.

Later, Mohit filed a written complaint with the Sungarhi police but later moved to court as not actions were taken by the police.

An FIR was lodged under Sections 395 and 397 against the BJP MLA and his supporters including his nephew after the court directed the authorities to register an FIR against the accused.
