UP: Acting on advice of self-styled godman, father kills his two-and-a half-year-old daughter

Acting on the guidance of a self-styled godman a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was murdered by her father in order to attain spiritual abilities, and the body was thrown away in a foresr area, said police on Monday.

The father, who was identified Wajid, and self-styled godman Irfan were taken into custody and the corpse of the girl was recovered, SHO Kakroli police station Vijay Singh stated.

A case was registered under section 302, 201 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in line with a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, Rihana Begum.

As maintained by the FIR, Wajid took the girl to a close by field where he allegedly strangulated her and split open her throat on self-styled godman’s advice. He then threw away the body.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, said the police.
