UP: 3-year-old girl raped by youth during wedding function

A shocking case has come to light from Uttar Pradesh where a three-year-old girl raped by a youth in Manipuri district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the reports of Times of India, the incident took place on Wednesday night in Bhogaon area of Mainpuri. The girl was raped when she went to the toilet at a marriage hall’s toilet.

The victim had come to attend a wedding function with her parents from a neighbouring district.

Her parents came to know when a woman guest went to the toilet and spotted a girl lying on the floor and bleeding at around 11:30 in the night.

The woman later told the police that she had seen a man coming out of the washroom when she was going to enter the washroom.

An FIR has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) and section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the Mainpuri SP, Ajay Kumar, the girl’s condition is stable now. Also, police have detained around 12 people and questioned them.

Shockingly, the rapist didn’t see in any of eight CCTV cameras that were installed at the wedding due to technical glitches.

Police informed that they have formed four teams to probe the matter and arrest the accused. Police are also getting a sketch prepared of the accused on the basis of woman witness. Also, the police will screen videos of the wedding to identify the accused.
