Tripura horror: Man kills 3-year-old son, assaults wife who tries to stop him
In a shocking incident reported from Tripura’s Agartala, a man allegedly killed his three-and-a-half-year-old son and buried the body in close proximity to his residence in Baldakhal area.
The accused has been identified as Shyamal Das. The Tripura Police has taken the accused into their custody and he will presented before the court on Thursday, according to India Today NE. The victim’s mortal remains were also excavated and sent for a forensic examination.
SDPO New Capital Complex Paramita Pandey said, "According to information provided to us, a three-and-a-half-year-old boy was murdered and buried by his father. After three lengthy hours of a thorough search operation, when we arrived at the scene, the body was exhumed from a marshy region close to the victim's home."
The police told the press that the mother of the three-year-old victim made an attempt to intervene but was assaulted by her husband.
"All of the testimony has been recorded, and the main suspect in the case has also been taken into custody. The only way to determine the true cause of death is through a postmortem,” Pandey said.
The victim's skull had severe injury marks, which might have been the cause of death, according to report by India Today NE.
As per the initial evidence, he was first killed and then buried, police said. Neighbours said that the couple used to fight all the time and they used to hear arguments very often.
According to the accused's father, his son used to be unkind towards everyone in the family.
“My son's rage did not only affect my grandson and daughter-in-law. He frequently used to behave badly around us. My daughter-in-law informed me this morning that my grandson had been killed. As a result, the police were informed," the victim’s grandfather told.
