TN: Man hacked to death after he stopped minor girl’s marriage

A shocking incident was reported from Tamil Nadu’s Madurai were a 24-year-old man had to pay the price of stopping the minor girl’s marriage. The man identified as N Ramamoorthy was allegedly hacked to deaths on Monday night by the groom’s family members.

As per reports, the accuse doubted that the deceased informed the police about the illegal marriage. As soon as the police were informed about the activity they swung into action and stopped the marriage.


As per police, the groom and his relatives murdered the victim on Monday night. They stopped the victim after his father dropped him to his home on his bike. On seeing the accuse he ran for his life however he couldn’t escape them as they have already attacked him with sharp weapons.

On hearing the victim’s cry his wife rushed to the spot, however by the time she reached he had already died succumbing to his injuries. Later, police reached the spot and sent the body to Rajaji Government Hospital for postmortem.

After the victim’s father filed an FIR against the accused police launched the manhunt to nab the accuse. According to police, the prime suspect is Vijayakumar who suspected that victim had informed the police as Ramamoorthy was the neighbour of the minor girl.
