Thane: Two youths strangle 14-year-old boy to death

A fourteen-year-old boy was put to death by two youths, which includes a minor, in Maharashtra’s Thane district. Both accused have been taken into police custody, police said, further adding that robbery was the motive behind the crime.

The victim was identified as Soham Bajage, a native of Sai Ram colony in the district’s Bapgaon area. The victim went mising on Wednesday, after which his family filed a police compliant.

Acting on the compliant registered by the victim’s family, the cops started a search operation for the victim. They recovered his dead body lying in a vacant apartment on the first floor of the building where he lived. After this, a case of murder waas lodged and a three-member team was set-up to carry out investigations, The Times of India reported.

The police interrogated the people who had last met the deceased victim and zeroed up 24-year-old Akshay Waghmare and a 17-year-old boy (boy’s name withheld). The duo, in the time of probe, provided different versions. Later, they were subjected to interrogation and a horrific story of the incident was revealed.

The two accused confessed to have killed the teenager for robbing his gold chain. Police said that on Wednesday, the accused took the boy to an empty apartment, where they allegedly strangulated him with a rope. Following that, the duo ran away with his one and a half tola gold chain.

In another shocking incident, a security guard at a State Bank of India branch in Hyderabad in Telangana opened fire on an employee of the bank after an argument with him over some issue. The bank employee suffered a gunshot injury and was taken to a nearby medical facility.

The incident happened at the SBI branch in Hyderabad's Abids area. The accused fired three rounds from his licensed gun on the employee, identified as Surender. One of the bullets hit Surender. He started bleeding to a great degree. The employee was immediately taken to a hospital. In the meantime, the police lodged a case and arrested the security guard.
