Tamil Nadu Horror: Man slits lover's throat, attempts suicide at her house

In an extremely horrifying incident coming in from Tamil Nadu, a man attemps to murder his girlfriend by slitting her throat since the woman's parents were against their love affair.

The man, identified as Ajith, a native of Minjur in Tamil Nadu, also tried to kill himself by hanging at the woman's house in Taramani, according to a report in The Times of India. Both of them have been admitted in a hospital.

The unfortunate incident of crime took place on Sunday. Ajith and the 22-year-old woman became friends when they were working together at a mobile phone showroom and he soon fell in love with her.

However, the woman's family didn’t approve of their relationship and arranged her marriage with another individual. Irked by this, Ajith went to the woman's house in the Kanagam area in Taramani on Sunday in order to sort out things.

The duo were all by themselves in a room when the woman's family heard an altercation and barged in. They discovered the woman lying in a pool of blood and Ajith holding a knife. Soon, Ajith ran into another room and locked himself in, the TOI reported.

The woman’s family rushed her to a nearby hospital and alerted the cops. Taramani police rushed to the scene and broke open the door only to find Ajith hanging. He was also taken to a hospital.

As per Taramani police, the doctors were able to save both their lives.

Police said Ajith carried a knife and planned to murder the woman if she refused to accept his marriage proposal.

A case of attemptt to murder has been lodged. Ajith will be taken into police custody after he is discharged from hospital, police said.
