Tamil Nadu: Amid lockdown tipplers chose sea path to buy alcohol
As India is going through the fourth phase of nationwide lockdown, people have slowly come to its terms and have now started following the rules. However, there are still some who are following ways to bend the rules and sneak out of their houses for their so-called essential works. Recently, a hilarious and shocking news was reported from Tamil Nadu where all the tipplers have found a new mode of transportation to travel from one place to another just to buy their essential item i.e. liquor.
With all the Tasmac liquor outlets closed in Greater Chennai Police limits, several residents particularly from the city's northern parts, are travelling by sea to areas in Tiruvallur districts to buy alcohol. As the news of the fifth phase is doing the rounds on all the media sites people from Tondiarpet, Kasimedu and Thiruvottiyur are persuading fishermen to take them to places where the alcohol shops are open.

Just to buy alcohol people have gone so crazy that they are ready to pay Rs 1000-2000 per trip. As per reports, police are keeping a sharp eye on people and are checking the cars and bikes especially of those who are coming through Ennore Thermal Power Station. Police are checking whether they are carrying liquor or not and in wake of this, they have caught few vehicles while others have been turned back with the warning.
Also, since there is no restriction on sea transportation so people are bringing alcohol in bulk so that they can sell it at their place.
