Tamil Nadu: 4 youths allegedly murder woman, brutally assault her husband over minor issue in Coimbatore

Four adolescents allegedly killed a woman and brutally assaulted her husband over a minor issue in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore. The youths allegedly attacked the couple after they interfered in their fight with their sons.

Two of the accused are college going students. The incident happened at Madathupalayam near Avinashi in Tirupur on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Kondal, who lived in AD Colony, Ganeshpuram with her husband Palanisamy and three kids.

The couple's three kids were playing cricket at Madathupalayam when they were allegedly attacked by a group of youths. The accused and the three sons had a previous enmity.

When Palanisamy and Kondal came to know about the fight, they went to the ground where their children were playing and confronted the accused. On being confronted, the youths allegedly attacked Kondal on the head with tiles and murdered her on the spot. Meanwhile, the accused also assaulted Kondal's husband and he suffered injuries, The TOI reported.

When the police were notified about the incident, they sent Kondal's body to the government hospital for post mortem. After the incident, the deceased woman's relatives staged a protest, demanding strict action against the accused. The police have filed a case in relation to the case and the four accused have been taken into custody.

This is not the first time where lawless youths have targeted people for intervening in their fights. In the past also, there have been any instances where people have been attacked for taking a stand for other persons.
