Suspecting wife of infidelity, man kills children, records video and dies by suicide
In a horrifying incident reported from Tamil Nadu’s Salem district, suspecting that his wife was having an illict love affair, a man allegedly murdered his two children and also ended his own life by suicide.
Before he died, he recorded a video clip of the children hanging from a tree and sent it to relatives.
The man, aged 33, from Mangalapatti had been working at a restaurant for thirteen years. He was injured in a workplace accident and had been recuperating at home for ten days when he started to doubt that his wife was talking to another man over the phone.
This became a point at issue between the couple and the man told his wife not to speak to the other person.
On Sunday, he told his wife he was going to a nearby shop and took his nine-year-old son and five-year-old daughter along with him. He also took his wife's mobile phone.
He then allegedly murdered the kids and recorded a video clip of them. "This is what you wished for. You wanted to kill us. See, we are dead now." he said in the video message before switching off the phone.
The woman and her family registered a police complaint at the Sankagiri police station in Salem district. The police launched a massive search and found the man and the children's bodies at a mango farm.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
