Student stabbed to death near police station after road rage incident
In a recent development coming in from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, a student was stabbed to death in Sardhana locality on Monday. The victim succumbed to his injuries at a Delhi hospital.
The shocking incident of crime happened near Ashok ki Laat police post. The victim was attacked with an iron tool used to cut ice.
The cops have now taken two people into their custody as apprehensiveness prevails in the locality following the incident. The victim has been identified as Gopal, a native of Kushawali. The victim was a student in a coaching centre located in Pandushila Road, as per a report in Hindi daily Hindustan.
After his coaching classes, the victim went to a restaurant to eat food. As he came out of a restaurant, he was attacked by at least 10 people who brutally thrashed him and stabbed him.
The student was also hit with 'iron punch'. The victim cried for help but no one came to his rescue not even the policemen from the nearby police station.
As people arrived at the crime spot, one accused was caught and handed over to the police. Another accused was later nabbed by police.
Following the initial treatment, Gopal was quickly taken to Delhi but he succumbed to injuries at 10.30 pm on the same day. Additional forces have been brought in the locality to maintain peace.
"The argument began after the road rage incident. Two people have been taken into police custody. We are also looking into CCTV footage and trying to identify other accused. Police probe is underway in the case," said, Meerut SSP Prabhakar Choudhary.
