Shocker: 19-year-old girl falls into trap of human trafficking racket on the pretext of getting job

A 19-year-old girl allegedly fell into the trap of the human trafficking racket in Chhattisgarh. The victim was lured on the pretext of getting work.

According to timesnownews.com report, the racket was operated by a woman named Mamta Agarwal. The victim girl was allegedly sold for Rs 2 lakh to a man, who impregnated her.

Reportedly, Agarwal ran the racket with the help of her two aides- Shefali and Keshav. The accused approached the victim and befriended her on the pretext of getting a job in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh.

The 19-year-old girl also agreed to take up the job and accompanied Keshav without telling her parents. However, her parents thought that she eloped with a guy and didn’t inform the cops.

When the girl reached Raisen, she realized that Keshav had duped her. The accused man allegedly asked the girl to marry him. Later he had bought her for Rs 2 lakh.

Reportedly, the girl got pregnant and gave birth to a child in December last year, a media report said.

After two months, Keshav went missing along with the baby, The Times of India reported. However, the woman gathered courage and approached the police.

Subsequently, a special team was constituted to look for Keshav while the other team conducted a raid at Shefali’s house and managed to nab her.

Later, Keshav was also arrested by the cops and he confessed that he had handed over the child to Agarwal.

Meanwhile, Keshav has been booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). While police have launched an investigation to locate Mamta Agarwal.
