According to the reports in news agency PTI, residents doctors at Kasturba Hospital threatened mass resignation if authorities didn’t release their three months’ pending salary.

As per the resident doctors’ association at the 450-bedded Kasturba Hospital of NDMC claimed that they have not been paid salary since March.

Many doctors and staff of the hospital have tested positive for the coronavirus till the date. But, no immediate reaction from the NDMC authorities.

Dr. Sunil Kumar, president of the RDA of the colonial-era hospital (earlier Victoria Zenana Hospital) said, “We cannot work without money.” He also added that being the frontline worker they should be paid their salaries. This is only their demands, nothing more.
