The victim, a native to Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, is a UPSC aspirant who had come to Delhi over a decade ago. She says that she met the accused in 2013 and became friends with him soon. After promising to marry her, he repeatedly raped her.
The FIR was file on April 6 2022 with charges of rape and causing harm against the man who is a resident of North Delhi, said a cop.
The victim recalled an incident when she reached home late after her eye operation when he verbally abused her and began hitting her. The FIR mentioned, "I started crying...He then forced himself upon me... I cried but he raped me and left. The next day, he came and started apologising. He also promised to marry me..."
On bringing up the subject of marriage, the accused started maintaining a distance between them. Once, when he had left his phone with her and gone out for a few days, the victim found out that he had been having an affair with other women as well.
The victim woman also alleged that the accused had contacted senior police officials in Madhya Pradesh to threaten her.
