S N Shrivastava appointed as Commissioner of Delhi Police: Little known facts about IPS officer
The Central government on Friday designated senior IPS officer SN Shrivastava as the new commissioner of Delhi Police. He will be replacing office bearer Amulya Patnaik.
The 1985 batch of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory cadre, SN Shrivastava will take the place of Amulya Patnaik, whose one month extention will end on Saturday.
Currently, SN Shrivastava is the Special Commissioner, and he has been given additional charge of Delhi Police Commissioner till 1st March 2020 and until further order, a Home Minsitry order said.
Earlier, the IPS officer was posted as Special Director General (Training) with the Central Reserve Police Force. He was ADG (western zone) looking after Jammu and Kashmir at the peak of violence in 2016-17 at the time when Hizbul Mujahideen’s Burhan Wani was killed.
SN Shrivastava also headed the Delhi Police special cell and was involved in the arrest of Indian Mujahideen agents.
