Roorkee woman, minor daughter gangraped in moving vehicle

In a horrifying incident reported from Haridwar’s Roorkee, a woman and her minor daughter were allegedly raped while she was returning to her home from Piran Kaliyar, a Muslim religious site.

The mother and minor daughter were gang-raped by a man, identified as Sonu and his accomplices inside a moving vehicle. The man invited them inside the car by offering them a lift to their home, said the police.

According to news agency PTI, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Pramendra Doval said some friends of the man were already in the car.

The accused raped the victims inside a moving vehicle and threw them near a canal.

In the middle of the night, the woman came to the police station and registered a complaint. While she was not able to tell the number of men present in the car, she identified the person who was driving the car as Sonu.

The victims have been admitted to the Roorkee Civil Hospital. Their medical examination confirmed rape.The police are investigating the case and have started looking for the accused.
