Rape and Murder in UP: Accused lured minor on pretext of buying 'samosa'
On the report of recent development, the four-year-girl, who was found dead in a paddy field in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, was allegedly raped and murdered by a man. The girl who went missing on Sunday while playing near her residence in Gonda area, was allegedly abducted by her neighbour.
The accused, aged 24, allegedly enticed the minor victim on the pretext of buying a samosa and took her to a nearby shop. The accused works as a mason.
According to the police, the accused was under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened. Following this, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the minor and drowned her in a water-filled pit as he was afraid being nabbed.
After this, the accused ran away from the area. Reportedly, the girl was bare when she was found and her clothes were recovered from a few metres away from the crime spot, The Times of India reported.
Superintendent of police Shubham Patel stated that the probe in the case is in process. The 24-year-old man has been charged under Section 302, 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with Section 5 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The SSP has ordered that the accused be booked under the National Security Act.
Following the recovery of the girl's dead body, locals in the area and family members of the deceased staged a protest. The police booked 80 persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code after a fight flared-up between the demonstrators.
