Rajasthan: Man gives Triple Talaq to wife in front of family; case registered

A case of Triple Talaq has come to light in Jaipur district in which a man divorced his wife in front of his family members and threatened her saying that he is not afraid of anyone. The victim reached Ramganj Police Station and registered an FIR against her husband.

In her complaint, the 26-year-old woman wrote that she filed a case against her father-in-law, mother-in-law and husband in June of this year. Since then, the in-laws have been pressuring her to sign an amicable settlement letter. The woman’s husband and his friends assure her that no one will harass her and her daughter if she signs the letter. After the assurance, the victim signed the letter, but nothing changed.

After a month of signing the amicable settlement letter, the accused husband told the victim that his mother is angry at her and they had to live separately. He then took the victim and their child to a rented house. According to the victim, the house was in poor condition and there was no proper arrangement for food and water.

The husband then took the wife back to his parent's house and started abusing her. He told the wife that he and his mother don’t like her, and if he doesn’t leave her, his mother will not give him a share in the property. After this, the accused gave triple talaq to his wife in the presence if his family members.

Police are now investigating the matter.
