Pune: Shocking! 12-year-old girl died after she was raped by 22-year-old man

A 12-year-old died on Wednesday two days after she was rape at a secluded place in Pune’s Hinjewadi. After the rape, the girl had gone into coma, was admitted to the private health hub in Aundh. She died around 10.30 pm on Wednesday, said the dean of the government hospital. On Thursday, the body would be sent for post-mortem.

Along with the deceased, a girl with the same age was also raped but she survived.
A few hours before the victim’s death, the police arrested a 22-year-old man and detained a 17-year-old boy on Wednesday for raping the two minors. They have been charged with the rape and murder among other charges under the relevant sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences Act.

According to the police, the accused lured the two girls by giving chocolates two day ago when they were playing near their house and took them to a secluded spot.

An officer of the Hinjewadi was quoted by the Times of India as saying “They rape the girls and threatened them with dire consequences if they revealed the incident to their parents or any other person”.

The officer added “one of the traumatized girls fainted after reaching home. Her parents, who were not aware of the incident, took her to the private hospital. Another girl then gathered courage and narrated her ordeal to her parents”.
