Puducherry: Couple held for running sex racket, forcing minor in prostitution
A shocking incident came to light from Puducherry where police busted a sex racket running in beauty parlour withing the limits of the town. The parlour owned by a couple was arrested along with a 27-year-old client who was present at the time of the raid on Friday.
Police rescued a 16-year-old minor girl from Puducherry along with 4 other women natives of Tamil Nadu. As per Mudaliarpet police, they received the information about the operation of the sex racket running inside the beauty parlour which was located near the regional transport office. As soon as they received this information they immediately swung into action and conducted a raid where they found that a husband and wife are operating the racket.

Further investigation revealed that 16-year-old girl was forced into the flesh trade. The police have registered the case under Section 3 (punishment for keeping a brothel or allowing premises to be used as a brothel), Section 4 (punishment for living on the earnings of prostitution), Section 5 (procuring, inducing or taking a person for the sake of prostitution) and Section 7 (prostitution in or in the vicinity of public places) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, Section 12 (punishment for sexual harassment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Section 376 (punishment for rape), Section 370 (buying or disposing of any person as slave) and Section 307 A (exploitation of a trafficked person) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
