Pet pitbull mules minor boy, inflict grievous injuries on his body

In a horrifying incident reported from Jaipur, a 11-year-old boy was badly hurt when the landlord’s dog attacked him inside his own house at Tegore Nagar in Hanuman Vatika on Monday.

The pitbull, other than crushing the facial bone of the boy, identified as Vishal Meena, also inflicted severe injuries on his neck, head and thighs at the time of the attack.

Based upon a complaint filed by the neighbour, a case was lodged against the dog’s owner and caretaker in Chitrakoot police station.

According to a police official, “A case has been filed under IPC Section 289 that tackles negligent conduct.”

The victim’s father works as a labour in dog owner’s residence. The incident took place at around 10:30 am when the dog reached the backyard where the victim’s family lives on rent.

Allegedly, the dog was not on a leash and attacked the boy when he was playing. After the mother and the boy cried for help. Locals in the area rushed to the spot and saved the boy. However, by then he was already injured. Following this, the victim was taken to the SMS Hospital. After some treatment, the victim was shifted to a private hospital. The boys condition is said to be critical.

In the meantime, the JMC-Greater took responsibility of the dog and sent it to a rescue centre at Jai Singh Pora Khor. Rajesh Gupta, in-charge at JMC-Greater stated that, “the dog will be kept under observation for two days. In line with doctors advice. Further actions will be decided later.

Though the breed is in high demand for its fearsome image, according to experts the guard dogs shouldn’t be domesticated.

According to veterinary Arvind Mathur,” We always discourage people from buying ferocious breeds of dogs for their home. The behaviour of this breed is unpredictable and is always threat for owners and others.

Furthermore, Activists have also claimed that these breeds is either banned or restricted in many nations and in order to keep these aggressive dogs, the masters have to abide by certain regulations. In Rajasthan, many people keep these dogs as pets illegally.

As maintained by People for Earth, secretary, Shubhamoy Kumar, “in order to earn money, breeders are selling these breeds. Pitbull is not registered with Kennel Club of India, therefore the administration should take action against the breeders and owners.
