As per the reports of news agency ANI, SP Mamta Gupta has confirmed her arrest and said ‘Payal Rohatgi has been detained. Case registered.”
Noticeably, Payal shared a video on her Facebook account on September 21, 2019, in which she said some objectionable comments against Motilal Nehru’s family. Also, she said some negative comments against Jawaharlal Nehru’s wife.
After her video came to light, it erupted controversy and landed her in trouble. A case was filed against Payal in Rajasthan by Charmesh Sharma, Youth Congress leader. The case was registered under sections 66 and 67 of the IT Act, reports said.
However, the video has been deleted from Payal's Facebook page. Apparently, she even apologised over the matter. Now, Payal's husband, Sangram Singh, took to Twitter to request PM Narendra Modi to look into the matter.
Payal and Sangram was also a former contestant of Salman Khan's superhit show Bigg Boss, but in different season. In 2015, the duo have participated in dance reality show Nach Baliye 7.
