Noida: YouTuber rapes, blackmails woman before posting video of crime on social media

A YouTuber was taken into police custody for raping and blackmailing a women before sharing a video of the horrific crime on social media. The accused, identified as Rajiv Kumar, was brought before a court and sent to 14 days judicial custody.

According to a report by India Today, the matter first surfaced when a resident of Noida Sector 76 approached the Sector 39 police station. In her complaint, the woman said she had been drugged, raped, and blackmailed using a video of the crime.

As per the Gautam Buddha Nagar DCP (women's protection) Vrinda Shukla, the woman lodged a complaint at the Noida Sector 39 police station on 27th October.

The victim told the police that she became friends with the accused via social media. He invited her to meet him in Noida Sector 39. After she came, the accused offered the victim a beverage allegedly spiked with intoxicating substances.

After she took the drink, the woman became unconscious. This is when the accused raped her and recorded a video of the crime, the complainant said in her statement. Furthermore, the woman also accused Rajiv Kumar of blackmailing her and asking for a ransom of Rs 13 lakh by threatening to post the video.

The accused was taken into custody on Friday on the basis of the victim's complaint. He told the police that he is a Youtuber who teaches fitness which is how he first came in touch with the woman, said DCP.
