A Greater Noida based pregnant lady met with a road rage incident after six-seven people, including three women, were badly kicked and beat her and two of her family members.

The incident took place near Omaxe Connaught Place Mall in Greater Noida on Sunday.

The woman has been identified as Renu Agarwal (28), who is a resident of Sector Beta 2 in Greater Noida. As per the reports in HT, the woman was going for a movie with her husband Jitendra Aggarwal and brother-in-law Ravi when the incident took place.

The husband of Renu was driving the car towards the mall and then a Maruti Swift Dzire overtook their vehicle.

“There were six-seven youngsters in the car and they were driving rashly. It appeared that they would hit our car. I rolled down the window and asked them to drive slow. They stopped the car and picked up a fight with us,” Jitendra said.

The pregnant woman filed a police complaint and said that she initially thought the two-vehicle had collided. However, there was no collision. Thankfully, the traffic has saved the major accident as both cars had stopped. Later, the youngsters came out of their car and started scuffling with Jitendra and Ravi, the woman said.

She also alleged in the complaint that they also dragged her out of the car and one of the suspects, a woman, kicked in her abdomen.

On the other hand, Jitendra said he called on the UP112 helpline number to seek Police help, but all the suspected fled from the spot.

“The police took us to a government hospital in Greater Noida for a medical examination. The medical reports show Renu is fine. We will get the medical reports of the fetus on March 20,” Jitendra said.

Jitendra also added that one of the suspects called him and apologized on Monday. He said to the suspect that they will withdraw the case if the medical report of his wife is fine. “If the report shows any abnormality due to the injury, we will pursue the case,” Jitendra said.

According to the deputy commissioner of police, Rajesh Kumar Singh said that the victim was in the early stages of pregnancy and no serious injuries caused to her.

Singh also told that a case has been registered against the suspects under Section 147 (rioting) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC.

He also added that the two parties have reached a compromise on Monday. “We will close the case if the family does not want to pursue the matter,” DCP said.
