Nashik: Shalimar LTT Express catches fire, passenger buggies unaffected

Shalimar LTT Express catches fire

A fire broke out in the luggage compartment of the Shalimar LTT Express on November 5. The incident took place at around 8:43 am near Nashik, Maharashtra, informed the Central Railways. Fortunately, no passenger buggies were affected by the flames.

"A fire was reported in the luggage compartment of Shalimar LTT Express near Nashik. The luggage compartment detached from the train. Passenger bogies unaffected," said Central Railway.

The luggage compartment, which was placed next to the engine, has been detached from the train, and the Shalimar LTT Express will resume services shortly.

"Luggage compartment/Parcel van which was next to the engine, has been detached from the train and soon train will re-start safely," said the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Central Railway (Mumbai).

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. More details are awaited.

There have been numerous fire incidents reported across the country in recent days. Earlier in the day, a massive fire broke out in a footwear factory in Narela area of Delhi.


On Thursday, a fire broke out at a godown on Ahmednagar road in Sopan Nagar. No casualties were reported in the incident.

 On November 1, several fire tenders reached a building in the Lulla Nagar area of Pune after an incident of fire outbreak was reported there. The building houses former cricketer Zaheer Khan's fine dine.
