In an appalling incident reported from Maharashtra’s Mumbai, a 28-year-old woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her paramour and buried his dead body inside her house in the western suburb of Dahisar, police said on Tuesday.

While the woman identified as Rasheeda Sheikh was taken into police custody during the day, her lover Amit Mishra is on the run, police said.

The horrific incident happened in Dahisar’s Rawal Pada locality 12 days ago, when the accused allegedly cut the victim Raees Sheikh's throat with a sharp edged weapon in front of his minor daughter, police said.

The woman and her lover then buried the victim's dead body in the woman's room and carried on with their usual day to day lives, police said.

The victim used to work as a salesman in a clothing store, and on 25th May, the victim's neighbour registered a missing person's complaint after he had not seen him for more than a week.

The matter came to be known after the victim's brother reached the latter's home and his niece broke down and told him about the killing, the police official said.

The police are in the process of recovering the dead body, which was buried in the accused woman's room, he added.
