Mumbai: Neighbours complain of foul smell, police recover dead body of air hostess in apartment
A decomposed body of an air hostess recovered inside her apartment located in Vile Parle (East) on Wednesday night.
The incident came to notice when neighbors of the deceased air hostess complain of foul smell from her apartment, TOI reported. Police were rushed to the spot and entered her apartment by breaking the door. Upon entering, they found the decomposed body of the woman.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old, Sultana Shaikh, who was an employee of a private airline. She was living in a rented flat in Rajlaxmi Apartment on Shahaji Raje Road in Vile Parle (East).
Shaikh was living alone in the flat as her roommate had left for her home before the imposition of lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the media report, the air hostess allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in her apartment. Police also recovered a suicide note from the spot.
In the note, Shaikh mentioned that due to some personal issues she took the extreme step.
Moreover, she didn’t end her life due to the loss of a job, the police told.
Her dead body has been sent for post-mortem to find the exact reason behind her death.
On the other hand, the residents of the society claimed that they haven’t seen the woman for the last few days moving outside her apartment.
