Mumbai man allegedly murders stepmother over harassment, monetary dispute in Thane

A man allegedly murdered his stepmother over a monetary dispute in Mumbai’s Thane. The accused further alleged that the victim had harassed him. The police took the man into custody after they recovered the women’s body.

The accused identified as Shahnawaz Ansari alleged that the victim (stepmother) had refused to give back the money he had given to her.

The victim identified as Rashma Khatun Ansari. According to the police, the accused is a resident of Shivaji Nagar and works as an auto driver.

The incident was uncovered on Friday when the police recovered the woman’s corpse. The body had throat injuries. The police filed a missing complaint in relation to the incident and used CCTV footage make sure the series of event.

As pre the footage, the women was seen travelling in an auto at 8 pm on Friday. The police than tracked down the auto. After further probe, the cops identified Shahnawaz and summoned him for questioning.

Durring the interrogation, the accused admitted of killing his stepmother. Shahnawaz told the police that the victim used to torture him and is siblings. Shahnawaz had allegedly given her Rs 90,000 after she promised to get him a job abroad.

But, when Shahnawaz confronted Reshma and asked about the job, she began harassing him and averted all his question. Shahnawaz said on Friday, he asked Reshmi to meet him. On meeting the accused took Reshmi to an isolated place and murdered her.

Senior police inspector, Rajendra Shirtode told the Mumbai Mirror, "The accused took the gold necklace and earrings she was wearing and dumped her body on a road. "
