Mumbai: 10 blades found in undertrial murder accused inside jail
A shocking case has come to light from Thane Central Jail where undertrial murder accused was hiding 10 blades in his stomach.
According to the media reports, the accused hid the blades in a small cylindrical container.
The incident came to know when Jail officials were asked to give a stool sample. The stool contained a capsule type item hiding the blades.
The accused has been identified as Diwakar Bhairavnath Yadav, who is facing murder charges by the MHB Colony Police in Borivali in 2017.
A probe has been ordered into the matter that how the prisoner got the blades and whether he had committed any crime inside the jail.
According to the reports in Mumbai Mirror, the accused man has been booked under section 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant), 42 Penalty for introduction or removal of prohibited articles into prison) and 45 (receiving or transferring prohibit article) of the Prisons Act.
Earlier on February 18, Yadav had involved in an altercation with other inmates and also abused them.
However, prison officials attempted to calm him down and found his
behavior suspicious.
Later, police officials took him to the urinal and asked himself to give a stool test. In the sample test, a cylindrical object recovered from his stool which contained blades. After this incident, another case registered against the accused on February 21 for hiding blades in
stomach.
According to police officials, someone likely to give him the packet when Yadav was taken to the court for the hearing, where he swallowed the object.
Meanwhile, police are probing the matter of why he smuggled the blades into the jail.
