Multi-storey building collapses due to landslide in Shimla, video goes viral
A massive landslide caused by recent rainfall has resulted in the collapse of a multi-storey building which in turn damaged two adjacent structures, a disaster management official said on Friday. However, no loss of life has been reported in the incident, he said.
As maintained by Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority Director Sudesh Kumar Mokhta, the eight-storey building at Shimla’s Ghoda Chowki near Hali Palace crumbled on Thursday because of a landslide triggered by recent rains.

A portion of the eight-storey building struck two two-storey structures, destroying them, he said, adding two adjoining buildings, including a hotel, were also in danger.
Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority Director Sudesh Kumar Mokhta said that the district administration has given Rs 10,000 as immediate financial aid to each of the householders of the buildings.
