Minor girl on her way to school abducted, gang-raped by 5 men
In yet another incident of crime against women reported from Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped.
According to police, five men allegedly raped a minor girl in Amtady village situated in the Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. The victim was on her way to school when the incident occurred.
The Bantwal town police without further ado got into action and managed to take two out of the five individuals involved in the horrifying crime into their custody.
The unfortunate incident came about on Friday when a known person allegedly picked the victim up in his car. She was then taken to an isolated area where she was raped. The minor victim was admitted to the Government Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangalore.
Furthermore, the cops have taken the victim's statement and according to sources, the victim was dropped off at Brahmarakootlu and police are using CCTV camera recording to identify the assailants.
The Bantwal police have lodged a case of gang rape under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act.
In another incident reported from the national capital, a resident of Baba Haridas Nagar shot dead his wife and mother-in-law in a fit of anger, informed the cops on Sunday.
As maintained by the police, the accused used to stay at the residence of his mother-in-law and wife because of which they used to ridicule him.
The deceased victims have been identified as Nidhi, the man's wife, and Veero, his mother-in-law. Both lost their lives inside the house after the man fired gun shots at them.
The accused himself gave in to the police over the phone after murdering both his wife and mother-in-law, police said.
Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
