Minor girl abducted, gangraped by two men for 3 days
There seems to be no end to crimes especially when it comes to women, in a horrifying incident reported from Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, two men allegedly kidnapped a 14-year-old girl and gang-raped her for three days in a row.
The incident took place on 10th October, but the minor victim’s mother lodged a complaint in connection with this on Saturday, following which both accused -- identified as Umesh Harijan and Santosh Takri -- were arrested by the cops.
The minor victim is a native of Turunja Guda village. The accused kidnapped her in a car when she had gone to relieve herself in a nearby field. The two took her to neighbouring Koraput district’s Sunabeda, where she was allegedly raped for three consecutive days.
The accused brought the victim to Semal village on Thursday. The victim’s parents came to know about her presence in Semal and saved her. The victim, after being saved, told her harrowing experience to her parents but they refused to report the crime to the police, according to a report in The New Indian Express.
Later, the villager convinced the victim’s mother to go to the police. Subsequently, the girl’s mother registered a police complaint on Saturday. Based on the victim’s complaint, the Papadahandi Police nabbed the accused on Sunday, the report said.
In a different incident, three youths allegedly kidnapped a girl, aged 17, at gunpoint and later gang-raped her at a village in Muzaffarnagar district. Following a complaint by the girl’s father, the police filed a case against the trio.
The victim’s father, in his police complaint, stated that the three youths, including two brothers aged 17 and 16 years, allegedly kidnapped his minor daughter at gunpoint when she was on her way to dump waste. The three took her to the bushes and raped her and later ran away.
